Nursing Homes

“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”   James 1:27

Brother Mathew Renner runs the nursing home ministry.   We visit Stafford Nursing Home three Sundays a month.

Bus and Shuttle Routes

“Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”  Luke 14:23

Every week, we spend our Saturday afternoons visiting children and families in order to invite them to church, share the Gospel, and build relationships.  We provide transportation to any of those people that would like to attend our church services.  We currently have routes that run in Des Moines, Kent, and Federal Way.

Soul-winning

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”  Mark 16:15

We are very busy seeking to fulfill the great commission.  We go out witnessing every week all throughout the South King County area.

Saturdays at 11:30 AM

Food Bank

“But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?”  I John 3:17

Food Bank is held every week in the upper part of our building, next to the Circo Circo Mexican restaurant.  There are no required documents or ID's.

Teen and Children’s Ministries

“But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”  Matthew 19:14

At Open Door Baptist Church, we believe that young people are a priority.  We believe that they need to be spiritually strong, grounded in the Word, and have a personal relationship with Jesus.   We also work hard to help create or restore close family relationships. The teachers and workers encourage our faithful kids and teens to reach out to others with the Gospel and to serve in our church in many capacities.

Breaking the Chains

Our addictions ministry is run by Richie Sykes. The meetings are held every Friday night at 7 PM in the auditorium.  All are welcome to attend.

If you or anyone you know is interested, call Richie at (779) 207-6134 for questions.
