The Process of Forgiveness

Because God has forgiven us so greatly, believers are called to develop His character by becoming people who forgive others. Unforgiveness leads to bitterness, torment, and confusion, making it harder to hear God's voice and recognize that our true enemy is not each other but spiritual warfare. Though forgiveness is not always easy, it is essential to the Christian life and requires a choice to let go of grudges and follow God's way.
