The Bible is God's true and perfect Word, given to make us wise unto salvation and thoroughly equip us for every good work. Because Scripture is authoritative and sufficient, it should be taught, learned, and preached faithfully in every season. We should interpret the Bible literally whenever possible, recognizing that when figurative language is used, the context makes it clear.
