V I John 5:13a says “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life,”

There are three things you must accept in order to go to Heaven.

1. Realize that we have all come short of what it takes to get to Heaven.

          V “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

          V “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” (Ezekiel 18:4b)

If you are like most people, you try to be a good person. The only problem is that in order to get to Heaven, you must be totally without sin on your record. That is why we have all come up short. Heaven is so holy and perfect that there is no sin allowed.

Before you can ever go to Heaven, you must realize that you have not earned it by your

religion, your sincerity, or your good deeds.

 

2. You must realize that Jesus provided the ONLY way to Heaven.

V “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8)

V “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)

We not deserve Heaven, yet He still loved us. He loved us so much that He sent His son, Jesus, to suffer and die on the cross to take the punishment for our sins. Jesus was then buried, and three days later, He rose from the dead, proving He was the Son of God.

My friend, Jesus has already died in your place to take the punishment for your sin. If you don’t accept His taking your punishment, then you will receive the punishment yourself -

spiritual death in Hell. Please realize that Jesus’ death for your sins opened the only door for you to enter into Heaven.

 

3. You must trust Jesus as your only way to Heaven.

V “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36)

Our sins are wrong - so wrong that the Son of God had to die to take them away. Hopefully while reading this , you realized this. The good news is that God’s love is so great that He is waiting right now to take your sins away. The key is that you believe in Jesus and trust Him as your way to Heaven. In the Bible, the word “believe” means to “depend upon”. You must trust in what Jesus did for you in order to go to Heaven when you die.

If you are sorry for your sins, and believe that Jesus died to take the punishment for your sins, and you are willing to accept Jesus as your only way to Heaven, now is the time to accept the Lord’s gift of eternal life.

You could pray something like this: “Lord, I know that I have sinned, and that because of my sin, I don’t deserve Heaven. I am sorry for my sin, and I right now accept Jesus as my

Savior. Please save me and take me to Heaven when I die. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
